The film stars Heather Langenkamp, John Saxon, Ronee Blakley, Amanda Wyss, Jsu Garcia, Robert Englund, and Johnny Depp in his feature film debut. Set in the fictional Midwestern town of Springwood, Ohio, the plot revolves around several teenagers who are stalked and killed in their dreams (and thus killed in reality) by Freddy Krueger. The teenagers are unaware of the cause of this strange phenomenon, but their parents hold a dark secret from long ago.

Craven produced A Nightmare on Elm Street on an estimated budget of just $1.8 million,[3] a sum the film earned back during its first week.[2] An instant commercial success, the film went on to gross over $25 million at the United States box office.[2] A Nightmare on Elm Street was met with rave critical reviews and went on to make a very significant impact on the horror genre, spawning a franchise consisting of a line of sequels, a television series, a crossover with Friday the 13th, beyond various other works of imitation; a remake of the same name was released in 2010.[4][5]

The film is credited with carrying on many tropes found in low-budget horror films of the 1970s and 1980s, originating in John Carpenter's 1978 horror film Halloween, including the morality play that revolves around sexual promiscuity in teenagers resulting in their eventual death, leading to the term "slasher film".[5][6] Critics and film historians argue that the film's premise is the struggle to define the distinction between dreams and reality, manifested by the lives and dreams of the teens in the film.[7] Critics today praise the film's ability to transgress "the boundaries between the imaginary and real",[8] toying with audience perceptions.[9]</div>

Les chondrites sont des météorites primitives n’ayant quasiment pas changé depuis la formation du système solaire il y a 4,566 milliards d’années. Elles doivent leur nom à la présence de chondres, des petites sphérules de 0,1 à 10 mm de diamètre que l’on ne trouve pas dans les roches terrestres, et principalement constituées de minéraux silicatés tels l’olivine et le pyroxène. Le tout est réuni dans une matrice finement cristallisée contenant un peu de fer, parfois des inclusions réfractaires blanchâtres riches en calcium et aluminium, et dans le cas des chondrites carbonées, une forte proportion d’eau et de carbone.

Les achondrites sont, elles, dépourvues de chondres. Elles proviennent de la croûte ou du manteau d'un astéroïde de grande taille et elles ont vraisemblablement subi une cristallisation à partir d'un magma. Par leur texture, leur composition minéralogique et chimique, elles ressemblent à certains basaltes terrestres. Parmi elles, les météorites SNC (Shergottites, Nakhlites, Chassigny) sont particulières et pourraient provenir de la planète Mars.

Dans le cas d'un astéroïde dont la taille était de quelques centaines de kilomètres au moins, la quantité d’éléments radioactifs initialement présents a été suffisante pour chauffer fortement celui-ci, provoquer une fusion partielle et ainsi la formation d’un noyau ferreux en son centre avec un manteau tout autour donnant lieu à des processus magmatiques et volcaniques.

Lors de collisions violentes, certains de ces astéroïdes ont été pulvérisés sous le choc et ce serait là l’origine des météorites métalliques et mixtes selon qu’elles soient constituées d’un alliage fer-nickel, comme les sidérites, ou d’un mélange de ce dernier avec d’autres minéraux, comme pour les Pallasites.

Dans ce dernier cas, on observe des cristaux d’olivines noyés dans le métal. On pense qu’il s’agit d’un échantillon de la couche présente à l’interface du noyau et du manteau de ces gros astéroïdes. Le même type de roches se retrouve très probablement à cette même interface sur Terre. </div>
